You’ll learn academic measuring, block-in methods, light and shadow organization, edge control, and a practical workflow you can repeat on any subject.

2April – June 2026 | 20 hoursBasics of Oil Painting with Instructor Valerio TestaOil paint is an intimidating medium for those who have never used it, but in this course different aspects of painting will be explained. 3April – June 2026 | 20 hoursDrawing the Figure with Instructor Valerio TestaAcademic figure drawing has a long tradition and is one of the best ways to create a realistic and visually impressive rendition of the human form. In this course you will learn the core skills necessary to successfully draw the figure using the academic method. It covers different aspects of figure drawing such as gesture, anatomical structure, shading and more. This course is in 3 parts from beginner to intermediate to advanced. It is recommended to start with the beginner course if one has no prior experience in drawing the figure.

4April – June 2026 | 20 hoursThe Art of Still-Life Painting with Instructor Jered WoznickiIn this course, you will be led through the stages of the painting process in the recreation of a still life of one of the three images of works featured here (also in our “Student Works” website page). Topics to be discussed include: Why are these paintings successful, what pigment mixtures might best match certain colours and how to develop various textures that describe the tactile qualities of the objects portrayed. By the end, you will have produced a still-life painting certain to impress everyone and, more importantly, you will understand the ideas and techniques that construct a strong image. -Ideas and techniques that you can then use to paint your own original artwork!

5April – June 2026 | 25 hoursPictorial Composition with maestro Michael John AngelThe ability to draw and paint realistically is important for the Realist painter, just as is learning words when learning a language. However, knowing a language does not teach one how to write a book. Equally true is the fact that being able to draw and paint does not enable one to create a painting. Creating a painting is the domain of Pictorial Composition. The maestro, Michael John Angel, has created an in-depth, online programme that teaches Pictorial Composition.

The programme is in two parts: Shape and Value Design (10 lessons) and Colour Composition (10 lessons).
